Not to mention, it's free, meaning it's at least worth a try.. Simutrans is a transport simulator, in which your goal is to make money and move goods and passengers to specific destinations. Compared to many similar games, Simutrans is harder, but it rewards the dilligent even more with more depth and flexibility. Veterens of Locomotion and OpenTTD may have some challenge adapting to the many differences, but they are not too hard to overcome. I recommend this game, but it really isn't all that casual or simple. Prepare to invest several hours a session to figure things out, and expect to fail at first. My main complaint is the lack of a tutorial, but I love how the player can design their own airports and seaports however they want.. stars: 2/10Worth mention, Simutrans is not a new title, it started back in 1997 as a hobby project and it pretty much still is, it seems more like a learning platform for developers to test sim-ai's, than an actually game.i've played a fair bit of openTTD and RT, so simutrans was a welcome addition to my steam library, but i quickly found myself utterly confused and overwhelmed by the games slobbish UI, massively outdated and rubbish track laying system, horrible player advice/notification system, did managed to get a train running, but then my patience was used up and i simply could not be bothered to continue anymore.This game and openTTD are legendary dinosaurs, the world have changed a lot since then, city building and simulation games have undergone major development, the standards are much higher today, the tools are thousand times better, the expectations of 'bare minimum' is so much higher than ever before, in this time and age, simutrans falls very short on all accounts.i really hope developers behind simutrans and openTTD, wakes up and start looking into new technologies. we need passionate people like this, we need more simulation games like this, but you got to follow the time your living in and stop building upon 97 code, i promise you, the "new age" is so much more fun than the old limited platforms of the 90's, and you don't have to give up on the graphics style, 8 bit army is a good example of this.. I'm going to be honest. Its ok, but not great. Games like OpenTTD (which has a much stronger community, and is based off of Transport Tycoon Deluxe) are better. this one is a bit ugly, old fashioned, and not as refined as OpenTTD, which has a much more understandable interface, with great graphics, and the best music.Overall, I'd suggest leaving this and going for OpenTTD.. this is totally legit!! its so awsome :-). I like trains. Simutrans is a really good game. Not only is it fun and addictive, but the game is so in depth that it's unique. It's one of those rare really good simulators. The only problem in my opionion is when you start playing the game, you have no idea what to do and how it works. So, just the lack of a tutorial I guess...So I rate it... a good 9/10!Good Job!. No. Just no. It has very bad gameplay and when you do build something you cant make it work. So I have to say no to this game.. I absolutely love this game! Played it at least 500 hours before it was on steam. And the best part is: its for free!Totally worth a try! 10/10. We need the update ASAP!
